International School Chess Federation

The International School Chess Federation, abbreviated ISCF, is an organization affiliated with the International Chess Federation (FIDE) and focused on school chess. Its stated mission is to unite national school chess associations and support the integration of chess into school curricula, meaning the planned content that schools teach.

Its work combines two dimensions. In education, it provides resources and expertise to help countries build sustainable school programs. In competition, it cooperates on international school team events that let students represent their schools under a shared set of regulations.

School chess does not mean only tournaments for young players. It can also include teacher support, curricular use and cooperation among schools. ISCF does not replace the national federation that administers chess generally within a country. Its continental stages can operate across the same regional map served by the African Chess Confederation, the Asian federation, FIDE America and the European Chess Union.
