The ⩲ symbol means that White stands slightly better. The edge is real in the annotator's judgment but small: the position remains close to equal, and Black retains reasonable resources.

It may reflect a modest gain in activity, space, pawn structure, king safety, or material. The sign does not identify one cause, and it has no universal engine threshold. Authors and programs may apply it over somewhat different evaluation ranges.

In PGN, this assessment is associated with NAG $14. When a font does not display ⩲, the ASCII forms += or +/= are common.

⩲ is weaker than ±, which gives White a moderate advantage. Its mirrored counterpart, ⩱, gives Black a slight edge.
