Arena FIDE Master

Arena FIDE Master, abbreviated AFM, is a title in the FIDE Online Arena system associated with the International Chess Federation, FIDE. An online rating is a numerical estimate of playing strength based on results in that system. AFM records an achievement in the online arena and should not be read as the over-the-board FIDE Master, or FM, title.

For AFM, the required threshold is an online rating of 1400 or higher maintained for a minimum number of games. Under the platform's current process, only rated tournament games count toward title progression. Receiving the recognized title also requires a PRO account and a connected FIDE ID, the unique number identifying a registered player in FIDE's database.

• 50 rapid games.
• 100 blitz games.
• 150 bullet games.

Within the same ladder, Arena International Master requires a higher rating, while Arena Candidate Master has a lower threshold. Current platform documentation requires Arena titles to be obtained in order, so ACM must be obtained before AFM. All three use the same basic idea: reach the specified rating and sustain it through enough qualifying play.
