A new meeting point in Fort-de-France
Echecs Anlè Moun was created in July 2022 and is affiliated with the French Chess Federation in Fort-de-France. When the club joined, the federation described it as the fourth chess club in Martinique.
A school host with a wider public
The club developed with the support of Séminaire Collège Sainte-Marie in Fort-de-France. The host institution describes lessons for both younger people and adults, from beginners to experienced players.
The intended community extends beyond the school's own pupils. On its association page, Echecs Anlè Moun says it aims to give players across the CACEM area a place in Fort-de-France to meet, play and improve.
From club sessions to Martinique opens
The club has also built a role as a tournament organiser. It staged its first rated blitz open in Le Lamentin in 2024, followed by its first rated rapid open in Fort-de-France in 2026.
Local reporting highlighted the mix of ages at the 2026 event, while the 2025 Martinique youth championship lists Echecs Anlè Moun players in several age groups. The club's public activity therefore combines intergenerational events with the presence of young players in island competition.
