A national title gives the history a fixed point

In 1972 the club entered the official roll of honor as winner of the Italian Team Championship. That achievement gives its historical narrative a precise national reference beyond the age claimed by the organization.

A room for play and study

Regular club life combines casual play, lessons, and tournaments. A chess library available at the venue adds a dedicated place for study to the practical side of the game.

The competitive use of the clubroom is also documented in 2026. In May of that year, the venue hosted the Emilia-Romagna absolute regional championship and an Under 1650 side event, both played in person.

Chess beyond the clubroom

Youth teaching has opened routes into several of Bologna's cultural institutions. In 2019, young players from Scuola di Scacchi Le Due Torri, then described by the municipality as an extension of CSB, joined a public tournament at MAMbo; in 2024 the club worked with CUBO on a five-session program for teenagers.

CSB also operates as one part of a broader local network rather than as its substitute. It joined the 2022 chess day in Piazza Lucio Dalla and collaborated on the 2025 Bologna Chess Festival, each time alongside other chess groups from the city.
