The 2011 title

In 2011 the Scavolini-Siviglia Pesaro team won the Serie Master in Spoleto, taking all seven matches and securing the championship with one round remaining. Behind that sponsor-linked label was the team of Scacchi Pesaro: the commercial name belonged to the season, not to the club's stable identity.

The roster placed Italian and international grandmasters alongside Pesaro brothers Denis and Axel Rombaldoni. The title was therefore not won by an entirely homegrown side, but by a team in which two players tied to the club's youth record sat beside other elite players.

A tiered learning path

The club's teaching program is organized as a first-, second- and third-level school alongside courses for adults and young players. Its local work includes teaching partnerships with Istituto Giansanti e Carducci, Liceo Marconi and Scuola Leopardi.

The school is not the whole of the club's work with young and developing players. In 2026 the club's activity included in-person youth championships; in August the club worked with the Municipality of Pesaro on training sessions with a grandmaster and a public simultaneous exhibition.

A tournament without a fixed calendar

The Torneo Permanente offers a more everyday form of belonging: participants can challenge one another throughout the year without waiting for a conventional schedule, and the games are played in person. Alongside giant-board initiatives and chess in Pesaro's public spaces, the format shows a club moving between federation competition and informal opportunities to meet over the board.
