Pink and black, but independent

The virtual multisport network brings Palermo associations from different disciplines into Palermo FC’s shared identity project. Each member nevertheless retains its own structure, autonomy and identity, so Palermo Scacchi is an independent chess organization within that project rather than a department run by the football club.

Teaching as the club’s framework

Training is not a side activity: the club combines classes for all ages with friendly play, a technical library and tournaments. This creates several routes between a first encounter with chess, structured study and competition, rather than defining the club only by its leading team.

In the FSI project "A scuola dagli sport della mente" for 2024/2025, Palermo Scacchi appears alongside Scuola di Scacchi Accademia Palermitana and ICS Giotto Cipolla. The school name echoes Accademia Palermitana, the organization that entered the 2010 merger.

From youth teams to Serie Master

By 2023, under the Palermo Scacchi name, the club won the Italian Under-14 and Under-16 team championships and the junior girls’ team title. Together with the Under-16 championship won as Alfiere di Re in 2009, these results place youth competition in two differently named phases of the club’s history.

In 2024 the senior team moved up from Serie A1 to Serie Master, the top national level. The promotion adds a senior competitive level to a history already visible in youth teams and teaching activity.
