CHECK centers its routine on scheduled over-the-board games and open-play gatherings. Beginner mentoring sits alongside them, allowing learning and practical play to happen within the same club setting.
Open play creates repeated opportunities beyond scheduled games, while mentoring gives newcomers a separate point of entry. Together, the two activities make shared play and learning the basis of club life.
Match days connect one campus to another
Exchange matches with other university chess clubs are one of CHECK’s stated core activities. In the second semester of 2025 it met clubs from Seoul National University and Myongji University, followed in 2026 by face-to-face exchanges with Sungkyunkwan and Myongji.
Returning to Myongji while also adding another campus makes these exchanges part of a recurring method rather than a single showcase. Games developed at Ajou become occasions for competition and contact with other student communities.
