The First Clear Scene at Citizens Park
On June 25, 2023, 부산체스경기연맹 organized the Busan Metropolitan City Challengers Chess Olympiad at Busan Citizens Park, dividing play into six age categories. The same event appeared on the park calendar under the title 부산 체스 입문자 올림피아드.

The eighth edition in 2026 retained the same distinction and allowed individual applications from people without an affiliated education center. The result was a separate competitive environment for beginners that remained open beyond a single academy network.
