MSO부산체스클럽

A Busan teaching club shaped by grade-based youth competition and a deliberately accessible first tournament. The local name appears in a 2015 notice and in a tenth Busan Cup completed in 2026.

A Busan Series with Its Own Count

The local name appeared in an October 2015 notice for an MSO 부산클럽 rating tournament. Results from 2018 and 2019 again organized young players by school grade, placing the Busan name across several years of local youth competition.

The later Busan Cup developed a count of its own. It was the eighth edition in 2024 and the ninth in 2025, and the club's official account announced the completion of a tenth event in 2026.

The BEXCO Model

At BEXCO in December 2018, about 200 elementary pupils competed in grade groups through five Swiss rounds of 10-minute games. The format put several short over-the-board games into a single day.

The results separated grades one through six and placed a Korean 예절상, a courtesy award, alongside the competitive prizes. Kindergarten was added in the 2019 results and the courtesy award returned, making age grouping and conduct recurring features rather than incidental details.

Before the Trophy Hunt

A May 2026 children's tournament organized by the MSO Busan Chess Club committee was limited to ages 6 to 13 and to players without a previous tournament prize. Knowing how to give check was enough to enter, and three 10-minute rounds created a clearly defined first-competition format.

On the day, the club's official account reported children arriving from Gyeongju, Jeonggwan, Gijang, and Gimhae. In a 2025 lesson, students applied learned piece movement and tactics in actual games.

Running that teaching activity and low-threshold event alongside the numbered Busan Cup gives the club a clear role in both introductory and established youth competition.
