Arena Grandmaster

Arena Grandmaster (AGM) is an online title recognized by FIDE, the International Chess Federation, within the FIDE Online Arena (FOA) title series on its official online playing platform. It is not the over-the-board Grandmaster title. The rules, playing environment, and rating system, which uses a number to estimate competitive strength, are different, so AGM and GM do not represent equivalent achievement levels.

Current AGM requirement

• Rapid, a fast time control: maintain an online rating of at least 2000 for 50 rated tournament games.
• Blitz, an even faster time control: maintain at least 2000 for 100 rated tournament games.
• Bullet, an ultra-fast time control: maintain at least 2000 for 150 rated tournament games.

Each time control has its own progression, and if the rating falls below 2000, the counter for that category resets. To receive the recognized title, current platform documentation requires a PRO account and a connected FIDE ID, the unique number identifying a registered player in FIDE's database. The FOA series also includes Arena International Master (AIM), Arena FIDE Master (AFM), and Arena Candidate Master (ACM). Current documentation states that Arena titles cannot be skipped, so ACM, AFM, and AIM must be obtained before AGM.
